Parking at Civic West car park
The University of Newcastle, through a license agreement with Hunter Parking and Storage has access to discounted parking in the Civic West carpark for students and staff to utilise when travelling to NUspace.
City parking made easy
We’ve made some changes at Civic West car park to make your experience even better. We know that the existing system has been challenging and we really appreciate your patience while we have made improvements.
Parking at Civic West now has:
- A new entry system – just use your student or staff card
- Clear signage – see all available University parks
- More choice – park in any bay excluding reserved bays
- Easier payment – simply tap your chosen card to pay

Please note: Your existing balance from the previous system will be transferred to the new system on the day of system changeover.
If you do not have a student or staff card or you need a replacement card, please visit Student Central. University staff can also get ID cards printed at Infrastructure and Facilities Services at Callaghan.
