The Little Scientists Program

Little Scientists Logo

The Little Scientists Initiative and SMART are proudly partnering in the Hunter to empower education and care centre staff with the skills and confidence they need to include STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) at their centres.

The Little Scientists are a non-profit initiative of Froebel Australia Limited and in cooperation with ‘Little Scientists House’ Foundation of Germany.

Workshops run for a whole day and are generally held at the Callaghan campus of the University of Newcastle, Australia. Continued involvement with the program will enable care centres to be certified as a ‘Little Scientists House’, displaying to parents and the community that STEM is a focus within their centre.

Educators must begin the program with the Water Workshop which introduces the key pedagogical concepts of the Little Scientists approach. Once completed, educators can complete further workshop topics in any order every 4-6 months.
