Teaching and Learning Day 2013

The Faculty's annual Teaching and Learning Day was held on Tuesday 19 November at Noah's on the Beach.

Approximately 76 members of academic staff gave up their time to participate in the day-long forum overseen by Professor Jim Psaros, Assistant Dean Teaching and Learning.

A full program of presentations showcased our teaching and learning achievements and explored new directions for teaching and learning.

Dr Joe Lipsett, from the Centre for Teaching and Learning, gave staff an overview of the 'flipped classroom' while dispelling some of the myths associated with the 'flipped classroom'. Damien Burke, Project Director of NeW Space, spoke about the timeline for the project and the move into the city. James Hunt (NBS) and Joseph Wenta (NLS) provided feedback about teaching and learning issues from the NeW Space meetings they have attended as Faculty representatives.

Professor Psaros congratulated the presenters and attendees for their positive contributions to the discussions and hopes the day will continue as a celebration of the outstanding achievements of the Faculty in teaching and learning.
