2013 Emerald/EFMD Outstanding Doctoral Research Awards

Congratulations are due to Richard Oloruntoba. His PhD thesis has recently won the Highly Commended Award in the 2013 Emerald/EFMD Outstanding Doctoral Research Awards in the Logistics and Supply Chain Management category.

The award is offered by the UK-based Emerald Group Publishing Limited and the European Fund for Management Development (EFMD). Richard's thesis, titled "The Implications and Limitations of Commercial Supply Chain Management Process Models and Frameworks for Disaster Relief", was one of four chosen from a worldwide pool of logistics and supply chain management submissions after a rigorous selection process by the editorial team of the International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management - a leading logistics and supply chain management journal.

The submissions were judged on: significance/implications for theory and practice; originality and innovation; appropriateness and application of the methodology; and the quality of data/research.

The prize includes a certificate and an award winner's logo for use on correspondence. Award winners are listed on the Emerald and EFMD websites.
