Welcome to the Newcastle Business School!

The Newcastle Business School is a world-class provider of business education and research. The School is ranked among the world’s top 200 universities for Business and Management, Accounting and Finance, and Economics subjects in the 2019 Times Higher Education Ranking. The School is accredited internationally by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International.

The Newcastle Business School delivers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs with intellectual rigour and practical focus. The School is one of Australia’s oldest providers of postgraduate business education. We introduced the MBA in 1977 and subsequently expanded our offerings to include Executive MBA, Global MBA and specialised Masters degrees in accounting, finance, human resource management, international business and marketing. Our programs are designed to deepen students’ domain knowledge as well as problem-solving skills.

The Newcastle Business School has created a vibrant learning environment with students from over 20 countries. We focus on student-centred teaching to develop the skills and attributes needed to sustain a successful career. The School provides opportunities for students to participate in work integrated learning, international immersions, student exchanges and leadership programs. The Greater Bank Finance Lab within the School enables students to build their skills in financial decision making, risk management and conducting behavioural experiments.

The Newcastle Business School is an Advanced Signatory of the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME)—a United Nations platform to raise the profile of sustainability. The School is committed to embed the PRME in programs, and support students to gain competencies in sustainable management and become enlightened citizens.

We conduct cutting-edge research on the challenging issues facing our local, national and global communities, and contribute to public policy debates. The School has a long history of offering a robust PhD program that is centred on developing students’ analytical skills and advancing the frontiers of knowledge.
