Placement requirements

You will need to submit the following NSW Health Verification Requirements before attending your placement:

The above documents MUST BE to be submitted to NSW Health as per Submitting your Documents to NSW Health section below.

In addition to the above requirements, you will also need to:

  • Hold a current NSW Working with Children Check clearance (Paid or Volunteer)  
    Please note: Your NSW Working with Children Check DOES NOT need to be sent to NSW Health as part of your NSW Health verification requirements. Refer to the NSW Working with Children Check section below for instructions.
  • Completed NSW Health Mandatory Training
    In 2017, NSW Health introduced Mandatory Training Modules. There are 5 modules that all UON students undertaking healthcare placements in NSW Health facilities must complete prior to  placement. For more information on NSW Health Mandatory Training click here.

Please note: Students should also be aware that individual placement organisations, including government departments, may also require students to undergo internal organisational clearance and vetting procedures and/or undertake pre-placement educational courses in readiness and eligibility for placement learning.

Your timely verification is VERY important. If you don't get verified in time, then UON is not allowed to send you on placement. We recommend that you ensure that you have met all verification requirements prior to enrolling in any course with a professional experience placement or observation placement.
