Library Search is our comprehensive collection search engine. Features include citation exporting and embedded chat. Search options are highlighted below:

  • All - searches most University of Newcastle resources in a single search and includes books, journal articles, journals, multi-media and more.
  • Books - searches the University of Newcastle collection of books, ebooks, media and more.
  • Articles - searches a large collection of journal articles, conference materials, news, and reviews from a wide range of journal databases.
  • Journals - search for a journal by title such as ‘Australian Journal of Advanced Nursing’.

Library Catalogue

Find a book or "request" an item (unavailable or on loan) at your campus library by searching our Library Catalogue for the item and place a hold on the physical resources.

Resources include:

  • audio and visual recordings (including DVDs)
  • books
  • journals
  • magazines and newspapers
  • maps
  • music (online, CDs and musical scores)

NOVA

NOVA showcases the research of our Newcastle staff and postgraduate students. Access or browse our open access repository to find centrally stored or managed research outputs and resources of  the University.

Living Histories

Living Histories houses our University Library Special Collection's digitised content. It includes artefacts and documents reflecting the history of the Hunter Valley people and communities. Content includes experiences and personal accounts relating to (but not limited to) local genealogy and family histories, coal mine and colliery workers, industrial action and other topics.

Galleries

The University Art Collection is a growing and diverse collection of over 2,700 individual works of art and culturally significant materials. The Collection features regional and nationally significant artworks including: notable Australian artists and esteemed University Alumni and a contemporary collection on Indigenous artwork with over 350 First Nations artists.

Lean Library Access

Access millions of University of Newcastle Library subscribed and Open Access full text journal articles and eBooks via your web browser with the Lean Library Access plugin.
