Legal Office

University of Newcastle Legal Office

The Legal Office, through its in-house solicitors, provides a comprehensive legal service to the University as its sole client. The Unit provides independent and objective legal advice to the University. It is committed to a policy of timely, cost- effective, professional services and to reducing litigation and minimising legal risks in the performance of the daily operations of the University.

It is University policy that all University legal work must first come to the Legal Unit through the University Legal Counsel.

Instructions to and engagement of external Legal advisors may only be dealt with by the Legal Office.
