Note: University of Newcastle staff and students must not use the eduroam wireless network while located at any of the University campuses where connection to the newcastle.edu.au network is available.

What is eduroam

Eduroam Australia allows University staff and students use of wireless networks at cooperating universities without the need for an extra account. Visiting staff and students are able to log-in with their usual “user name/password” to wireless networks at participating campuses around Australia and the World, enabling access to resources at their home institution.

Access to eduroam is free. There are no account fees, no connection fees and no access fees.
Eduroam is the perfect environment for secure, authenticated access for conferences, summits and forums. Small or large groups of multi institutional attendees can login securely without the organisers dealing with username and password creation, dissemination of accounts and wireless problems.

Conditions of Use

Users of eduroam do so with the acceptance of relevant eduroam policies and University of Newcastle policies.

Eduroam is only available to users over 18 years of age or those users that have acquired parental consent to use the 'non-filtered' Internet access.
