Studentmail is the University of Newcastle's centrally managed electronic mail (e-mail) service for students. It runs on a Unix based computer system.
All students of the University of Newcastle are automatically granted a studentmail account once they have completed their enrolment. Academic staff and tutors may also apply for a studentmail account for teaching purposes - this does not replace their normal staff e-mail account.
Students are required to check their studentmail regularly, and to use studentmail for all email correspondence with the University.Studentmail is accessed via a web-browser. Start up your browser and point it to http://studentmail.newcastle.edu.au/
There is no charge for the use of studentmail, although printing on centrally managed printers does incur a charge.
All use of studentmail must be in accordance with the Use of University Computing and Communications Facilities and Guidelines for Acceptable Use of the Internet.
For general assistance with studentmail please contact the IT Service Desk by submitting a request online through the 17000 Service Portal www.newcastle.edu.au/17000, by telephone on (02) 4921 7000, or e-mail to 17000@newcastle.edu.au.
