Change Advisory Board (CAB)
The goal of Transition Management is to ensure that standardised methods and procedures are used for the efficient and prompt handling of all changes, in order to minimise the impact of related Incidents or Problems upon service quality and consequently to improve the day-to-day operations of the University.
With Transition there are a number of decision points which are the responsibility of CAB members.
CAB is a collective decision making activity where requests for change (RFCs) are approved, rejected or deferred based on the detail outlined in the RFC and supported by its associated documentation.
During CAB all deployment dates are reviewed against the Schedule of Change to avoid conflicts with either another RFC or a Key Date.
The following associated documentation is submitted with the RFC:
- Operational Risk Document
- Implementation Plan
- Back Out Plan
- For a new service, a ‘draft’ Release To Operational Support (RTOS).
