International Student Support

The International Student Support Team works in collaboration with Faculties and other support services to facilitate a rich and personally rewarding experience for our international students. Team members assist students during their initial arrival and keep them informed through ongoing orientation programs and email bulletins of important matters related to their life and study in Newcastle. The Team also organises regular city tours and fun excursions to local places of interest, which broaden student social networks and increase their understanding of Newcastle and its environs. The Team can be found on the Newcastle and Central Coast Campuses of the University.

Students who find themselves in difficult or unfamiliar situations are also offered practical help and referral to more specialised services by the Team's Case Manager.

The International Student Support Team provides specific assistance to key organisations that sponsor international students to study at the University. These organisations include: AusAID and government scholarship programs originating in Saudi Arabia, Botswana, Indonesia and Malaysia.
