An update from John Germov about NeW Directions Future Workforce Plan: Promoting a respectful and collaborative workplace culture
In leading the University's Future Workforce plan I am pleased to oversee moves to promote UoN as a vibrant and dynamic community, and a healthy and rewarding place to work.
We are bringing together health, safety and well-being initiatives under a healthy UoN strategy to support a working and learning environment that promotes positive physical, mental and social health.
We value diversity and inclusiveness and have recently refreshed our Diversity and Inclusiveness Policy. There will be a number of initiatives and online resources developed to support this policy and the first of those is a new online guide which supports the policy and outlines ways to address concerns about inappropriate behaviour such as workplace bullying.
Everyone who works, attends or visits the University has the right to work in an environment free from bullying, and to be treated with dignity and respect.
We have produced this contemporary new online guide in order to outline our expectations in relation to workplace behaviour supporting a respectful culture. This guide aims to deliver practical advice, resources and links for those who believe they have experienced or witnessed inappropriate behaviour such as workplace bullying.
It reflects and supports the University's commitment to developing strong and robust frameworks that ensure all staff are treated with dignity and respect - and feel empowered to stop behaviours that they believe are damaging or of concern.
I encourage everyone to visit this guide located in the Human Resource Services, Health and Safety area of our website and promote this respectful and collaborative workplace policy and guide to your staff and colleagues.
I look forward to working with you as we engage in more initiatives in our Future Workforce Plan as they are developed throughout 2013 and 14. Thank you for your support as we shape our future as a healthy and rewarding place to work.
