A New Look for the Godfrey Tanner Bar

2013 sees a fresh look for the Godfrey Tanner Bar in the Shortland Union building. The vintage, yet comfortable style embodies the bar's namesake, Professor Godfrey Tanner.  Boasting student artwork, artefacts from Godfrey's time at the University as well as a selection of prints thanks to the University of Newcastle Cultural Collection, everywhere you look you will be taken back in time.

Accompanying the refurbishment is a fantastic new menu. Highlights include healthy breakfasts, or tasty pizzas and gourmet burgers for lunch, all for under $10. The bar's license extends to the sunny Derkenne Courtyard, which means that wind-down wine after a busy day is closer than you think.
