Walkleys Student Media Industry Day

The University of Newcastle, in collaboration with the Walkley Foundation for Excellence in Journalism, presents The Student Media Industry Day 2013 on Friday 23 August 2013.

The Newcastle Student Media Industry Day is open to students and staff of The University's School of Design, Communication and Information Technology. Students from other disciplines who are interested in pursing a career in the media industry are encouraged to look at the program and attend if you think it would benefit your career.

This event is designed to provide journalism and communications students with real insights into the broad, multi-faceted journalism industry and aim to equip students with practical skills and knowledge so that they can enter the industry with confidence and a competitive edge.

Limited spaces are available for students of other disciplines at the University and Hunter TAFE.

This is a great opportunity for students to interact directly with industry professionals including young journalists, freelance professionals and industry employers.
