Reminder of MSB building construction

Construction of the new Medical Science Building-West has commenced.

As the building is located on a corner on the Ring road, the construction has the potential to impact on UoN's day to day operations. We have negotiated with the builders, Cockram Constructions to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum however there will be occasions when access via the Ring road will be limited.  These occasions will be programmed to reduce impact and wherever possible, the work will be done out of hours and on the weekend.

Due to the constrained nature of the site Cockram Constructions will be occupying approximately 60% of the Chemistry car park for their site sheds and amenities. They will also be occupying the greater part of the parking adjacent to Medical Science Building.  Access to the area between the Life Science, Medical Science and Biology Building will be restricted to essential deliveries, services vehicles, security and emergency services only. There will also be occasions when the builders will need to restrict access to these areas and this will be negotiated in advance with Facilities Management.

The project program is 12 months.
