Discover Uni Day: students and families find out what uni's really like!

The AIM High team in the Equity and Diversity unit works with schools, students and families from low SES backgrounds to increase awareness of higher education, build aspiration and the expectation to participate in higher education.  AIM High also seeks to improve educational attainment and achievement to facilitate participation.

The Team provides a series of activities and experiences ranging from early infants to senior high school.  The Discover Uni Day is one of these activities.  It's when Year 6 students and their families spend the day on campus.  They meet current university students, complete a Science and Engineering Challenge, and learn about the degrees we offer at our uni expo.

The Discover Uni Days will be held on the Callaghan campus on the 18, 19 and 20 July, 2012.

There will be approximately 400 students and parents each day. Activities are focused around the Great Hall, Shortland Building and Hunter Building.

What you can do

If you see them around, please make them feel welcome, offer them a friendly smile or a wave. For many, it will be the first time they have been to a university campus.
