IRU role for Senior Project Officer, HEW 8 -12 month contract
The University of Newcastle is one of the seven members of Innovative Research Universities (IRU) a network linking Charles Darwin University, Flinders University, Griffith University, James Cook University, La Trobe University, Murdoch University and The University of Newcastle.
The IRU is now looking to fill a Senior Project Officer position. It is an opportunity to deepen your knowledge of the higher education sector and contribute to its longer term development. The position requires an individual who is self-motivated with the ability to work under little supervision.
The Senior Project Officer will have a particular responsibility for research and innovation policy and funding issues to provide high level support and advice to IRU groups, taskforces, projects and activities to progress the objectives of the IRU.

- creating opportunities for collaborative initiatives.
The successful candidate will be a member of a small IRU team, primarily based at La Trobe University. The successful candidate will be located within the IRU University closest to their residence communicating on a day-to-day basis with other members of the team via phone, internet-based communication services and email.
This position will be offered for 12 months from July 2012.
