GradSchool teams up with local winners
GradSchool and Webby Award winning local online business development company, Newism, have teamed up to produce a Best in Sector web experience for future and current online students (ATEM website assessment 2012).
It's a great achievement and what gives them even more cause for celebration is that Newism staff are graduates of UoN!
Sky Lavelle, GradSchool's Digital Marketing Coordinator, said that this collaboration is symbolic of a broader approach to use local providers where possible, and in particular, our graduates.
"Working with local talented graduates has given us a sense of giving back by employing the students we worked so hard to educate."
Sky said that the level of expertise was second-to-none and the outcome showcases the quality graduates that UoN produces.
"I was impressed by their technical skills, entrepreneurialism and their arsenal of talented, eager and passionate young staff," he said.
Together, GradSchool and Newism developed a savvy web presence that is responsive to the demands of a core market of 25-35 year olds who have grown up in a digital world and whose expectations are typically higher than other cohorts.
"It was crucial for us to deliver on this and vital for us to embrace new technologies. We are now able to connect with these busy young professionals on a personal level," Sky said.
Newism founder and General Manager, Wayde Christie, said that most education-based sites struggle with effectively meeting the needs of both current and future students and often combine it all together. However, GradSchool's website stands out from the crowd.
"The new GradSchool home page is more focused by marketing clearly and effectively to new students, while surfacing valuable information for existing students.
"Current students can browse important dates and resources, and can also connect socially via Facebook and Twitter."
This is just the beginning. Now in the planning stage is the roll-out of a mobile site, an online community platform, and streamlining the application process.
"This demonstrates the amazing effort that GradSchool is putting in to meeting the needs of its students," Wayde said.
