Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF)

This year Australian universities, including the University of Newcastle, will be introducing a Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) to improve the services offered to all students.

Last year we asked students how SSAF should be used. We reviewed over 4,000 student responses to surveys, read more than 400 comments on our facebook page and consulted with student representatives to develop key student priorities.

The SSAF legislation covers specific services and amenities, but we will continue to fund and provide a wide range of activities to students.

Great student services and amenities are important to the University. The new library extension at Central Coast and the water coolers at Callaghan are just two examples of how we have recently invested in what students told us they wanted.
