Meet our new VC

Welcome to our new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Caroline McMillen. Professor McMillen joins us from the University of South Australia where she has been the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) since 2005.

As a biomedical researcher, Professor McMillen is internationally recognised for her work in the development and impact of the early nutritional environment on the programming of later obesity, insulin resistance and cardiovascular disease. In addition to her international research career, Professor McMillen has extensive teaching and curriculum development experience. She has trained and mentored more than 50 honours and PhD students and has led a number of initiatives to develop curricula innovation.

Professor McMillen is excited to join the University of Newcastle and is looking forward to hearing from you in the coming months. Make sure you say 'hello' if you see her around.
