NUcard Staff ID Cards
What is NUcard?
NUcard is the new ID card for both staff and students at the University of Newcastle. Your NUcard identifies you as a staff member, gives you automatic University library access, and replaces swipe cards for after-hours access to buildings.
All staff, including Conjoints and Honoraries, are required to obtain an ID card and carry it at all times when on a campus or University facility. University lanyards are supplied, or you may carry it out of sight if you prefer.
Any existing building access you have will be transferred automatically to your NUcard. Applications for new or additional access are submitted via the online tool Maximo and added remotely to your NUcard.
How do I get one?
Simply bring some photo ID, such as a driver’s licence or passport, and your staff number to an ID Card Production Station (see below for further information).
If you don’t have photo ID, you will need to bring with you 100 points of identification, and your staff number.
