Work Health and Safety Representation

Each person at the University has representation on Health Safety and Welfare matters through the Faculty or Divisional Health and Safety Advisory Group that functions as a communication mechanism to the University of Newcastle’s Occupational Health and Safety Committee (UOHSC).  The UOHSC has been founded in line with the requirements of the Consultation arrangements section of the New South Wales Occupational Health and Safety Act and supporting documents.

While there are no restrictions as to who can raise any issue you identify to the University through the consultation arrangements, the particular representative for your workgroup is likely to have a better understanding of the issue due to their proximity with the situation.
