Welcome to Organisational Development. We offer a range of developmental programs and workshops designed to enhance the skills of University staff.

This section of HRonline allows staff to:

 

1. View the range of courses being offered
2. Nominate for a course if you need to attend
3. Cancel a nomination that you have previously submitted
4. Update a nomination that you have previously submitted.

This help file will cover how to:

 

  1. Use the Training Calendar
  2. Nominate for a training course in HRonline
  3. Cancel a training course nomination in HRonline
  4. Update your training course nomination in HRonline

 

.:: 1. Using the training calendar

The training calendar displays all University staff training courses scheduled for the next six months.

Courses on the calendar are grouped by category and then sub-grouped by their campus location.

To nominate for a course, you must do so via HRonline.

Course Details

The course dates are hyperlinked on the calendar, so you can click on the respective link to find out more information about the course. When you click on the link, a page similar to the following will appear.

 


 

Filtering the Calendar

The training calendar is able to be filtered by course category and/or course location. This makes it much easier to use and narrow down your search.

To filter the calendar by course category, press the category 'look up' button on the calendar, select a category, and press the find button. Please see below.


 

The calendar will then reload, and only shows courses for the category you selected.

 

To filter the calendar by course location, press the location 'look up' button on the calendar, select a location, and press the find button. Please see below.


 

The calendar will then reload, and only shows courses for the location you selected.

.:: 2. Nominating for a training course

 

1. Click on the 'Nominate For A Training Course' link, in the HRonline menu on the left side of the screen.

 

2. A page similar to the following will be displayed.




At the top of the page, any courses that you are already nominated for are displayed.

In the middle of the page, a link is available to view the list of training course categories. To view the list of course categories click on this link - 'Click here to view the list of training course categories'.

 

3. A page similar to the following will be displayed.




Training courses are grouped by their category, and this page displays the course categories and campus locations where these courses will be held. Click on the course category that you require.

4. A page similar to the following will be displayed.




Training courses for the category and location that you selected are now displayed. A description of each course is available for you to read, the number of course instances being conducted is shown and the duration of the course is shown.

To view the course description, click on the 'Description' link corresponding to the course you are interested in.

To continue to the next step, click on the course that you require.

5. A page similar to the following will be displayed.




Course instances for the category, location and course that you selected are now displayed. Each course instance has its own start date, provider, schedule and availability.

To view the course schedule, click on the 'Schedule' link corresponding to the course instance you are interested in. The schedule will describe the start and finish times for the course as well as the venue where the course is being conducted.

If a place is available on the course, you now have the option to 'Nominate' for the course, else if the course if full, you will have the option to nominate for the course waiting list.

To continue to the next step, click on the nominate link which corresponds to the course instance you require.

6. A page similar to the following will be displayed.




This is the course nomination form. Details about the course will be listed.

 

To complete your nomination, enter your contact phone number, any disability/medical conditions, where you heard about the course and tick that you have sought your supervisor’s approval to attend the course.

 

Press the 'Submit Nomination' button to finalise your nomination. An email will be sent to you and your supervisor confirming your nomination. If there were vacancies on the course, you will be advised that your nomination was successful. If there were no vacancies on the course, you will be advised that you have been placed on the course waiting list.

 

If a place becomes available on this course instance, you will be automatically moved from the waiting list, onto the course, and notified by email when this occurs.

.:: 3. Cancelling a training course nomination

If you are unable to attend a training course that you have nominated for, you will need to cancel your nomination in HRonline.

1. To do this, Click on the 'Nominate For A Training Course' link, in the HRonline menu on the left side of the screen.

2. A page similar to the following will be displayed.




At the top of the page, any courses that you are already nominated for are displayed. Click on the Nomination Date link which corresponds to the course nomination you wish to cancel.

3. A page similar to the following will be displayed.




This is the course nomination form. At the bottom of the form there is a 'Delete' button. To cancel your nomination for this course, press the 'Delete' button. An email will be sent to you and your supervisor confirming your cancellation.

.:: 4. Updating a training course nomination

 

If you need to update your training course nomination, you must do so in HRonline. You may need to update your nomination if your wish to specify a different contact phone number, you wish to specify a disability/medical condition requiring special arrangements and/or you wish to advise on how you found out about the training course.

1. To do this, Click on the 'Nominate For A Training Course' link, in the HRonline menu on the left side of the screen.

2. A page similar to the following will be displayed.




At the top of the page, any courses that you are already nominated for are displayed. Click on the Nomination Date link which corresponds to the course nomination you wish to update.

3. A page similar to the following will be displayed.

 


This is the course nomination form. At the bottom of the form there is an 'Update' button. Update your details as you require and press the 'Update' button to save the changes.
