The University's Ethnic Affairs Priority Statement (EAPS) articulates the University's commitment to reflect the multi-cultural nature of Australian society within the University, and identifies objectives and strategies for achieving this.
The key objectives of the Ethnic Affairs Priority Statement are as follows:
- Provide a learning environment which recognises, values and supports individual differences among a diverse range of Australian and International students
- Work with the community to enhance economic, social and cultural development regionally, nationally and internationally
- Encourage a work and study environment which is supportive of diversity and free from discrimination
The University provides assistance to students from non-English speaking backgrounds through the English Language and Foundation Studies Centre. Students whose first language is not English are encouraged to visit the English Language and Foundation Studies Centre for assistance with their English language skills. The Centre offers English classes. Individual consultations are also available.
