About the Centre

Bringing together a broad range of academic expertise, the English Language and Foundation Studies Centre (ELFSC) is part of the University of Newcastle's Academic Division and incorporates the Language Centre and Foundation Studies. Our highly qualified academic, teaching and general staff and service over 3000 students each year.

Working together with other educational institutes

The Centre has forged professional links with other educational institutions both in Australia and overseas. Australian and international students have benefited from our programs for over 34 years, with strong enrolments in areas as diverse as English Language skills development and tertiary preparation and enabling programs.
