Teaching Spaces Support (TSS)
Planning, designing and supporting our teaching and learning environments
The Teaching Spaces Support unit provides a range of services to support teaching and learning at the University of Newcastle. These include:
- Audiovisual presentation equipment services to classrooms and lecture theatres;
- Maintenance and repair of audiovisual equipment in student learning areas;
- Support of University corporate functions;
- Advice to Faculties and Schools on technology installations;
- Monitoring of physical maintenance (lights, seats, etc.) of teaching areas;
- Support and administration of the University's videoconference facilities; and
- Support and administration of the Lectopia video streaming system.
Service bookings:
Use of Video Conferencing service and Lectopia video streaming system require bookings to be made prior to each event.
Contact for Support:
- Calls for technical support can be made to the IT Service Desk on ext. 17000.
- Telephones in lecture theatres have a Hotline button that will connect you to the TSS workshop or email to theatres@newcastle.edu.au.
Booking your Video Conference Session
All Video Conference sessions must be booked in advance through the video Conference Coordinator. Procedure for booking video conference sessions and video conference site enabled venues can be found at our Video Conferencing Information page
The Videoconferencing Centre will schedule your conference and email you a booking confirmation.
Booking your Lectopia Recording
Lectopia is a fully automated recording system that directly records the audio and/or presentation content of lectures.
