The workshops are presented by academic staff in collaboration with CTL academics.

The Centre for Teaching and Learning is currently co-ordinating repeat workshops on embedding and mapping graduate attributes in courses and programs. The workshop will be useful for staff who would like support in evaluating and documenting the aspects of their courses and programs that relate to graduate attributes. Going through this process will enable staff to submit accurate and up-to-date information on graduate attributes to the University's new Program Tracking System (PTS).
This workshop is designed for program conveners, heads of disciplines, course coordinators and other staff who would like further support with graduate attributes.
By the end of the session, participants will have been provided with opportunities to:
How can academics deal with the challenges of teaching large classes?
Can we provide "quality" learning experiences in these situations?
This workshop aims to examine the problems of delivering quality learning within the confines of large class sizes. We will explore ways to improve learning and ensure equity of experiences and assessment. Participants are encouraged to bring both problems and solutions to share!
This workshop will provide academics, particularly those seeking promotion, teaching awards and/or teaching grants, with background information of what a teaching portfolio is, and the purposes of having one. Participants will begin the process of compiling a teaching portfolio through activities conducted during the workshop.
By the end of this session, participants will have been provided with opportunities to: Discuss of the purposes of a constructing a teaching portfolio, for a range of reasons, such as promotion, applying for grants and for intrinsic motivation reasons like improving teaching practice; Identify what needs to be included in a teaching portfolio (aligned with the UoN Academic Promotion Policy; Participate in activities which enable the construction of the beginning of a teaching portfolio; and Self reflect and peer critique work completed during the workshop.
