Experts explained the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Reports and talked about the latest predictions for Australia which were due to be released in early October 2007.

Scott Power

Bureau of Meteorology Research Centre - Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Working Group I: The Science of Climate Change.

Dr Scott Power is a Principal Research Scientist in the Bureau of Meteorology. He is the former head of Operational Climate Monitoring and Prediction in the Bureau of Meteorology and the National Climate Centre, a member of international panels of the World Meteorological Organization dealing with climate issues, and a contributing author of the IPCC 2007 report. He is coordinating the Bureau's participation in the Australian Climate Change Science Program. He is also a co-author and co-editor of the recently released landmark CSIRO/Bureau of Meteorology technical report on Australian climate change. Scott has published extensively in the international scientific literature on climate variability and climate change. You can find some of his papers at the Bureau of Meteorology website.

Kevin Hennessy

CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research - IPCC Working Group II: Impacts, adaptation and vulnerability.

Kevin Hennessy is a Principal Research Scientist at CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research. He has been doing climate change research for over 20 years and became Deputy Leader of CSIRO’s Climate Change Impact and Risk Group in 2005. The Group analyses past changes in climate, develops regional climate change projections and assesses potential impacts. He is a member of the NSW Greenhouse Advisory Panel and a Coordinating Lead Author of the "Australia and New Zealand" chapter of the 2007 IPCC assessment of "Climate change impacts, adaptation and vulnerability". Roger Beale AO

The Allen Consulting Group - IPCC Working Group III: The Mitigation of Climate Change.

Roger Beale AO is a Senior Associate with The Allen Consulting Group. He provides advice on economic regulatory, environmental and corporate strategy issues. Recent major projects include Chairing the Expert Panel on Energy Access Pricing for the Commonwealth State Ministerial Council on Energy; advising the Australian states on Greenhouse Gas emissions trading and preparing a major report for the Australian federal Government on policies for Adaptation to Climate Change. He was made an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2006, in recognition of his contribution to national environmental policy. Further details are available at the Allen Consulting website.
