Congratulations on choosing the University of Newcastle for your studies.

An important part of starting your student life with us is Orientation. It is the first week of the university year and just as important as your first week of lectures. The program of activities is designed to introduce you to the social, cultural and academic aspects of University life. O Week is held to help new students become familiar with where they will study and what facilities and services are available to them.

Information sessions and workshops are held throughout the week to advise new students of program and course options, enrolments and registrations, Faculty and library locations and much more. Many of the sporting facilities and clubs will be showcased, along with recreation and social clubs, and the University's accommodation facilities. Some of the most popular events of O Week are the social activities held by the Student Associations and various Faculties across campus to enable commencing students to foster new friendships.
