As a graduate, there are several important things that you need to do. The following checklist will explain the graduation process and will help you through it.
Once you have completed the requirements of your degree, the Faculty will qualify you for the award. If you have not been qualified for the degree or have questions about this, please contact your Faculty Office directly.
During August/September , the University will send you a letter of invitation to attend the Hong Kong Graduation Ceremony. This letter will provide details about your qualification but most importantly, it will include three (3) forms that must be completed and returned with payment in order for you to be included in the ceremony.
These forms can also be downloaded from this site:
If you have not received your letter of invitation by 30 September, the University may not have your current address. Please download and complete these forms and update your address, or contact BJ Consultancy Services on email doris@bjconsultancy.com.
One of the most important things you need to do is tell us whether or not you will be attending your graduation ceremony. As part of this process, you’ll also need to tell us how many guests you will be bringing to the ceremony and whether or not you, or your guests, have any special seating needs. Graduates will be allocated two (2) guest tickets to their specific ceremony. Allocation of additional guest tickets will be dependent upon demand and may not be met.
If you are NOT able to attend your graduation ceremony, you still need to complete the Graduation Response Form so we know if you will collect your testamur and transcript or prefer us to mail them to you. You may also like to defer to attend one of our future graduation ceremonies. For more details visit Not Attending graduation.

The Graduate Careers Council of Australia (GCCA) conducts an annual survey of graduates from all Australian Universities. The aim of the survey is to provide up-to-date information about the main destinations and higher education experiences of graduates shortly after the completion of their qualifications. You will be contacted by Statistics & Evaluation Services at The University of Newcastle and asked to complete a GDS questionnaire. Please take the time to complete the survey. Information from past surveys can be found at the GCCA website http://www.gradlink.edu.au
Your graduation ceremony is an exciting end to your degree – a chance for you to celebrate your achievements with your family, friends and peers. So on the day, relax, enjoy and don’t forget to smile as you shake the Chancellor’s hand!
