Special Circumstances- Getting Started
The following checklist has been developed to assist you to make the transition to lodging your applications for Special Circumstances online.
First Steps
- Check the policy at http://www.newcastle.edu.au/policylibrary/000641.html to ensure that your reasons for applying are allowable. Please note that some situations that do not constitute allowable circumstances include: misreading the course outline; having travel bookings for holidays; returning home; regular work commitments, or early commencement of holiday employment.
- Refer to your Course Outline to check the weighting of the assessment item.
- If the affected assessment item is worth less than 20% contact your Course Coordinator listed in your Course Outline, preferably via email.
- If the affected assessment item is worth 20% or more go to https://intraweb.newcastle.edu.au/sc/Pages/Login.aspx and complete the online application form.
- Print the coversheet produced and attach it to your supporting documentation (eg. medical certificate, statutory declaration, etc.).
- Submit supporting documentation to any Student Hub:
