Entry to the University

Not everyone comes to our University straight from high school. While a very large number of our undergraduate students do come straight from high school after doing their Higher School Certificate, an increasing number come to us through a variety of pathways.

Some of our students decide to come to university after many years in the workforce because they believe (quite correctly) that their chances of advancement are greater if they have a degree.

Some have spent several years at home raising children and decide that they'd like to come to university and study a particular subject they've always been interested in.

And others come to us after failing at school for whatever reason - perhaps they had financial or emotional problems, maybe they just hated it - but determined this time to make a go of their education and give themselves another chance.

We have a very proud record of encouraging students from a variety of different backgrounds and circumstances. We think that most people deserve a chance for a university education and we have set up three highly successful programs designed to help them get that chance.
