Start Smart Activities - bridging and refresher courses
Bridging and Refresher courses are offered to all students and run throughout February. These courses are free, and are designed to assist your academic preparedness by providing you with an opportunity to develop your University skills and refresh your knowledge in areas related to your Uni study.
There are foundation level bridging and refresher courses for all students entering an enabling program (such as open foundation), and for undergraduate students who have not completed any study in an area for which assumed knowledge is required (such as maths or chemistry). If you are heading into undergraduate study and do not have the assumed knowledge expected for the degree, we recommend that you enrol in both the foundation level and undergraduate level bridging and refresher course.
There are many undergraduate bridging and refresher courses available to all students who would like to brush up on content for courses involving mathematics, science and health.
There are a number of academic bridging and refresher courses available to assist you with your Uni studies through language development, writing and computer literacy skills. If you have not studied in a while, or would like to improve you academic and computer skills, these bridging and refresher courses are a great place to start!
Undergraduate Courses:
Surviving Stats: Statistics for Tertiary Studies, Introduction to Undergraduate Mathematics, Introduction to Human Biology, Mathematics for Nursing, Introduction to Undergraduate Chemistry, Undergraduate Physics for Health Science, Sciences and Engineering
Foundation Courses:
Foundation Chemistry, Foundation Mathematics, Foundation Physics
Academic skills courses:
Writing Academic Essays, Computer Literacy, Rediscover Grammar, Academic Survival Skills
Students wishing to take Undergraduate refresher courses in mathematics, chemistry and/or physics who have not studied these courses at the HSC level, are strongly advised to consider taking the preliminary Foundation - level course beforehand.
