International student travel discounts

In October 2012, the NSW Government announced travel discounts for international students available in annual and 90 day passes. This offers up to 35% discount on public transport in NSW.

The MyMulti travel passes are available to you in the MyMulti2 and MyMulti3 passes. These passes will entitle you to unlimited bus, light rail and ferry travel in the Greater Sydney area, and CityRail travel within a defined zone depending on pass purchased.

Which pass?

MyMulti3 will suit you if you are studying at Ourimbah, Callaghan or the Newcastle Business School, or if you are studying at the Sydney Precinct but living outside of the Sydney metropolitan area.

MyMulti2 will suit best if you are studying and living in the Sydney area and not frequently travelling outside of the Sydney Metropolitan area.

How to buy

The University of Newcastle purchases travel passes on behalf of students through Transport for NSW. Students need to order travel passes through the UoN Online Shop before 5:00pm each Wednesday for travel pass collection on the following Monday from one of the three locations below.

STEP 1   Pay for your pass at the UoN Online Shop

STEP 2   Bring your receipt and Student ID to one of the below locations to collect your ticket.

Newcastle
The International Office, Hunter Building, Callaghan Campus    

Central Coast
Room C1.20, International Student Advisor Office, Student Services Building, Ourimbah Campus                         

Sydney
Reception, Level 11, Sydney Precinct, 60 Bathurst Street, Sydney

Refunds and replacements

Refunds and replacements will be processed and incur standard fees:  $13.50 (refund); $25.00 (replacement).
