IELTS Testing

The Language Centre at The University of Newcastle’s Callaghan campus is an official IELTS test centre. IELTS, the International English Language Testing System, assesses the language ability of candidates who want to study or work where English is the language of communication. Test Formats

There are two modules: Academic and General Training.

Academic is used for education and professional registration. General Training is used for migration. Both modules test Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. There are different Reading and Writing tests for the Academic (AC) and General Training (GT) modules.
