Migrant/Refugee Support Worker

These support workers carry out a range of duties in programs that seek to meet the needs of asylum seekers, refugees and new migrants who are unable to access other support. General duties may include:

• Initial intake assessment of clients
• Maintaining regular contact with clients and advocating on behalf of clients when needed
• Maintain client records
• Network and build referral pathways with other service providers
• Casework for clients when required
• Participate in program/service evaluations

Experience and interest in working with culturally diverse and vulnerable client groups is required for this role. Qualifications in welfare, community development or similar programs are also required.
