Financial officers are often employed within small to medium businesses to manage and coordinate all general aspects of financial transactions that take place. This may include things like paying accounts, organising employee payroll and conducting general administrative duties. Financial officers need to have good all round financial skills and to be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. While tertiary qualifications in finance and accounting are very well regarded, they may not be essential for this role as related vocational training courses are also available at institutions such as TAFE.
