Animal Research Scientist

Animal research scientists design, plan and conduct research using animals. Their work may be directed in a variety of areas such as:

• Conducting studies on the effects of nutrition and environment on animal health and welfare

Scientists working in this area typically specialise at a post-graduate level and find employment in a specific area. Employers include government departments, livestock companies, medicinal and pharmaceutical research laboratories and companies manufacturing animal feed and other products.
