Biography
I am a Lecturer in Health Sociology in the School of Humanities and Social Science. My work focuses on the sociology of health and illness, and I am especially interested in the health professions, medical education, bioethics, innovative health technologies and the relationship between bioscience and clinical medicine. I completed my PhD in the sociology of medical education at the University of Cambridge in 2008 and then held research and teaching posts at Keele University, King's College London and Brunel University before joining the University of Newcastle in 2012.
