Research expertise

I have a background in Economic Sociology and Organisational Studies and my Master of Philosophy thesis examined changing work practices, the emerging knowledge economy in India and the internationalisation of production through outsourcing contracts. The study looked at the role of upskilling and relational linkages in the global governance architecture between firms in organizing the work process so as to allow firms in emerging economies to move up the global value chain; thereby impacting employment arrangements and the quality of work life.

I have prior experience working as a research assistant at the Dept of Sociology at the University of Oxford and briefly in an international security studies think tank called WISCOMP (Women in Security, Conflict Management and Peacebuilding - New Delhi), UNICEF, the research hub of an Aboriginal Organisation in Alice Springs, NT and the Australian Red Cross in the Goldfields region, WA.
