Biography

Anni is a lecturer at The University of Newcastle, Australia, with a strong interest in architectural graphics, design and sustainable development. She is a registered architect in Germany with considerable experience working there on the design and construction on a variety of projects such as small to medium-dense residential and office buildings as well as on industrial and public projects. She also taught building law and computational design. In 2007, Anni worked as Research Assistant for the School and she currently teaches computational and architectural design in architecture and construction management programs (ARBE1100, ARBE1103, ARBE1200 and ARBE1220). Her research interests are design theories on the perception of space.

Anni’s professional interests lie in the realm of design (also urban design) and sustainable development. She has a strong interest in architectural theory on the perception of space.

Collaboration

Anni has collaborated with colleagues from the University of Newcastle on teaching and learning related projects such as the analysis of both Australian Architecture and Construction Management programs as well as on projects about Online Learning. Currently, Anni is enrolled in a research higher degree and collaborates with her supervisor on the analysis of an architectural theory about the perception of space.

Administrative expertise

Anni is the course coordinator of one of the biggest and most challenging classes in our School (ARBE1103). This course is delivered in dual-mode face-to-face and online for on-campus students and distance learners. Anni as a part of a small team developed an Online Orientation Module in Blackboard for Construction Management distance learners to manage their expectations and to brief them about university services and policies.

Anni is the course coordinator of ARBE1103 Communication in the Built Environment 2 and is experienced in teaching CAD online. She enjoys teaching in the design studio and also teaches into Communication 1 (drawing). Before, Anni taught building law and computational design in Germany.
