Research

Research Interests

Our broad research objective is to investigate the physiological mechanisms that regulate human pregnancy and parturition. I am working to develop an animal model of human pregnancy. The current focus of my project relates to the expression and role of prostaglandin metabolic enzymes in the gestational tissues of the guinea pig during late pregnancy and parturition. I am also interested in the regulation of these enzymes by the steroid hormones oestrogen and progesterone.
