Introduction

Prior to joining the University of Newcastle in Sydney as the Director, Hock-Thye was the Director of the La Trobe University’s presence in Sydney. While he was primarily responsible for the campus administration and academic management of the operations, Hock-Thye also had an active role as a teaching staff member in the Business programs in Sydney, with a focus in Finance.

Hock-Thye has over 10 years of teaching experience at the tertiary level in both Finance and Accounting, having taught students in universities in Australia and Malaysia. 

Before joining Academia, Hock-Thye worked in the area of International Trade and Finance for one of Singapore’s leading bank.
