Accuracy
Ask yourself:
- How is the information presented? Is it constructed
logically and coherently? Has proper
attention been given to the appropriate use of language and expression,
proof-reading and presentation?
- Is the information well researched? If
the information claims to be original research, does the author
explain the research method used, how the data was gathered and
interpreted? Was the research method used appropriate to the topic?
- Is the information fact or opinion? Factual
statements should be well documented and/or footnoted
so they can be verified for accuracy. Are facts quoted out of
context from the original source?
- Is there a bibliography
which shows the sources used?
- Are references provided to locate original
sources of information? Are you able to cross-check to confirm
accuracy?
- Is it possible to verify the validity
of the organization sponsoring the site or the information?
