Description

The Cochrane Library is a regularly updated electronic library designed to give you the evidence you need for informed health care decision making. First released in April 1996, The Cochrane Library is now published quarterly. The program presents the growing body of work of The Cochrane Collaboration and others interested in evidence-based medicine.

The Cochrane Library is composed of a number of different databases including:

  • the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (Cochrane Reviews)
  • the Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects (DARE)
  • the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL)
  • the Cochrane Database of Methodology Reviews (Methodology Reviews)
  • the Health Technology Assessment Database (HTA)
  • the NHS Economic Evaluation Database (NHS EED)
