Callaghan Halls of Residence

Data outlets are provided in each bedroom unit in the Callaghan Halls of Residence enabling you to connect your personal computers to the University network.

To activate this connection you must first complete the following steps:

  1. Activate your NUaccess account and accept the 'Conditions of Use'
    This is usually done as part of the enrolment process.

  2. If you are under 18 years of age you MUST submit a Parental Consent Form before your Internet access account is enabled.

  3. Read ‘Connecting your laptop or desktop to the wired network connection via your telephone handset’.
    A copy of this two page document is also available in your room.

  4. Follow the Setup and Troubleshooting Guides for your computer’s operating system.
    Copies of these guides are also available from the Accommodation Services Office at Edwards Hall.

YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONNECT PERSONAL COMPUTERS TO THE UNIVERSITY WIRED NETWORK UNTIL THE CONFIGURATION SETTINGS OUTLINED IN THE SETUP GUIDES HAVE BEEN COMPLETED.

Having problems connecting?

If you can't get connected, and you have followed all the steps above and read the Setup and Troubleshooting guides, you should ask your RA for help.

If this is not successful, contact the 17triplezero IT Service Desk on internal extension 17000.
