Frequently Asked Questions

CMS Training

Why doesn't the presentation I am viewing have audio?

Not all presentations have audio commentary that progress throughout. Some of the presentations are designed as visual guides. However, the majority of presentations have audio commentaries.

Why, when keyboard input is being displayed, is the sound of the key strokes very loud?

We recognize that the sound level of the key strokes is loud and are working towards fixing this issue.

How can I change the speed of the presentation?

All presentations feature a small controller at the bottom which can be used to pause, step back and step forward in the presentation. There is also no limit to the amount of times a presentation can be viewed.

The CMS has a varied user base; ranging from users with a high level of computer skill to users with basic computer skills. The presentations have been designed to accommodate all users. As a result the presentations can't progress too quickly.

Why do I have to scroll to see the full size of the presentation on my computer screen?

The presentations are designed to be viewed on a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher. Capturing the presentations on a smaller screen would have made TeamSite impracticable to use in a training situation. Scaling the screen capture images would also reduce overall visibility.

Why does the presentation take a long time to load?

The training presentations range from 600 KB up to 4 MB in file size. Load time will depend on the speed of your Internet connection. It is recommended that University staff view the presentations on the local network (on campus) as this will reduce load time.
