If your assignment is similar to one of the five standard rubrics then it is best to start with one of those. If however, your assignment is not similar to one of the five standard rubrics, or if you require more assessment criteria than the closest standard rubric provides, then you should start with one of the Generic Rubrics: either the 5 column or the 2 column generic rubric template.
If you want to assess an assignment using 5 ratings columns Fail, Pass, Credit, Distinction, High Distinction then start with this rubric.
This rubric allows you to have up to 10 assessment criteria rows in your rubric. The assessment criteria are minimum (you can change them), and there are no descriptions entered for any of the criteria/ratings. It is recommended for use by experienced Excel users because you will have to type or paste the criteria and descriptions yourself.
