This site contains information about using rubrics for student assessment, and provides rubric templates (Excel workbooks) which you can download and use for assessment. These rubrics are available for anyone to download. You do not have to be a staff member at the University of Newcastle to use them. The only condition is that you don't remove the credit statements in the files.

These rubrics are in the form of Microsoft Excel workbooks (spreadsheets). Choose the rubric which most closely matches the assignment you are going to assess. Note that the Generic Rubrics are recommended for use by experienced Excel users. All of the rubric templates which you can download below are 224K Zip files.
Note for Mac users: These rubrics are currently only supported on Windows PCs though they will work on Macs with certain limitations. If you are a Mac user and would like to use the rubrics, please send an email request for more information.

The Rubric Bank is a depository of customised rubrics available for download. They are the standard rubrics from above, which have been setup by lecturers to assess a particular assignment.
If you have setup any of the rubrics from this site to assess a specific assignment, you can submit it to the Rubric Bank to make it available for others to use.
